CCCC trustees expected to act on personnel recommendations

The January meeting of the Cloud County Community College board of trustees is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Included in the consent agenda to be acted on by the board are the recommendations by college president by Dr. Adrian Douglas to appoint Dr. Bruce Douglas to the part-time position of coordinator of student engagement and to accept the retirement of board clerk Marilyn Martin.
The coordinator of student engagement position was created following the resignation last October of Shane Britt, director of residence life and student engagement, who accepted a position of Tarleton State University. Those duties were separated, and a new position was created.
Four applications were received by the college for the part-time position of coordinator of student engagement. It has an advertised estimated salary of $28,000-$30,000.
Adrian Douglas is recommending the appointment of Bruce Douglas, effective January 23.
Originally from New Orleans, Bruce Douglas received his bachelor of science degree and master of science degree from Louisiana State University. He completed his doctoral studies at Colorado State University.
The college board is also asked to accept Martin's retirement, effective May 1. Her last day will be March 8.
President Douglas is recommending the appointment of Diane Leif to the position of clerk effective March 1.
Also on the agenda for the meeting is the approval of the 2017-18 audit.
Neil Phillips, Jarred, Gilmore and Phillips, P.A presented the audit for discussion during the December 18 meeting.
The board will also act on a recommendation to use funds from the student enrichment fund to update furniture in the Student Union.
