Diplomas to be presented to CHS grads

Diplomas will be presented to 69 members of the Concordia High School Class 2019 during commencement exercises at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the junior-senior high school gymnasium.
Baccalaureate is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Corben Monzon will be recognized as the Class of 2019 valedictorian. Allison Poore will be recognized as the class salutatorian.
Monzon is the son of Jerad and Debra Monzon and plans to attend Kansas State University and major in agriculture engineering with a minor in apiculture. He participated in National Honor Society, basketball, track, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Science Club, Language Club, Trap Shooting, Friends of Rachel, Student Council and Mathletes.
Poore is the daughter of Justin Poore and Kathy Poore and plans to attend the University of Kansas and major in human biology and then medical school and become a doctor. She participated in Student Council, softball, dance, journalism, band, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America and Impact.
Class of 2019 Honor Scholars include Monzon, Poore, Alex Bonebrake, Beau Bonebrake, Bethany Craig, Madelyn Meyer, Paul Rundus, Elijah Steffen and Lauren Wheeler.
The high school Concert Band will perform “Home on the Range,” “Flights of the Eagles” and “Selections from Braveheart.”
The Chamber Choir will perform “A Million Dreams.”
Craig, the student class president, will deliver the closing.
