NORMA DARLENE (MCKELLIPS) CRAYS

Norma Darlene (McKellips) Crays, 81, died at Heritage Crossings in Geneva, Nebraska, on Sunday, November 10, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Originally from Clifton, Kansas, Norma finally settled on the Crays family farm with her husband of 40 years, Roland Crays.
Norma is survived in death by husband Roland, daughter Mary Eaton of Concordia, Kan., 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and various cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Harley and Kathlene McKellips, granddaughter Sandi Zieman, sons, Alvie Starkey and Samuel Starkey, daughters, Pamela Lauritsen and Maggie Graham, sisters, Deana McKellips, Leola Jackson, Shirley Brunell, and brothers, John McKellips and Delton McKellips.
Norma worked in nursing homes most of her life. As a natural caregiver, she passed that love for others on to have multiple generations in her family work within the healthcare field.
Unafraid to speak her mind, Norma’s genuine sassiness softened hearts, opened minds, and built bridges to unforeseen friendships. Whether at home, a nursing home, or in a hospital, Norma loved to play a rousing game of Spite & Malice, Frackle, or Marbles. Hours of memories were made over game time.
It was Norma’s wish not to have services beyond a private family gathering. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
