CHS golf team places sixth

WAMEGO — The Concordia High School girls' golf team placed sixth in the Wamego Invitational Thursday at Wamego Country Club.
Concordia posted a team score of 252.
Wamego won the tournament with a 174. Council Grove was second with a 201 and Kansas City-Piper was third with a 214.
McKenzie Widen led the way for Concordia with a 57.
Bethany Trost shot a 61 for the Panthers.
Emma Herman carded a 66 and Cianna DeLeon shot 68.
“The girls all had some good shots today, but found the ball grass too often and never quite got the hang of the quick and rolling greens,” Concordia coach Gene Rundus said.
Kirby McKee, Wamego, was the individual medalist with a 39.
