Cloud County Co-op tops American Legion

Scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Cloud County Co-op pulled out a 10-9 win over the American Legion in Concordia Recreation Girls' Softball play Thursday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
The American Legion led the game 2-1 after one inning of play.
Scoring five runs in the second inning, Cloud County Co-op went up 6-2.
The American Legion reclaimed the lead at 7-6 with five runs in the third inning.
A pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning gave the American Legion a 9-6 cushion.
Cloud County Co-op tied the game at 9-9 with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Taylor McDaniel homered in the inning.
After the American Legion went scoreless in the top of the fifth inning, Anna Widen drove in Isabelle Alexander in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Cloud County Co-op the 10-9 win.
Carly Brown scored three runs for Cloud County Co-op. Alexander and Widen scored two runs each.
Camleigh Hake scored three runs for the American Legion. Kacie Price scored two.
In the other game played Thursday night, Subway scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to pick up a 15-14 win over Funk Pharmacy.
The game was tied at 6-6 through one inning of play.
Each team scored two runs in the second inning, and it was knotted at 8-8.
Pushing across five runs in the top of the third inning, Funk Pharmacy led 13-8.
Subway answered with four runs in the bottom of the third to close the gap to 13-12.
A run in the top of the fourth inning gave Funk Pharmacy a 14-12 cushion.
Subway then scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to capture the win.
Kinsleigh Bethune, Addison Abitz and Alyssa Patterson scored three runs each for Subway. Marlee VanMeter scored two runs.
Kylee Herman scored three runs for Funk Pharmacy. Bella Stuber, Jaylin Roush, Katelyn Reedy and Isobel Chrisco scored two runs each.
