Concordia’s Cash, Henderson earn All-State honors
Concordia High School sophomore Charlize Cash and senior Joey Henderson earned All-State recognition by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA).
Cash was named second team All-State by the KBCA.
Henderson received All-State honorable mention.
A 5-9 guard, Cash averaged 12.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 4.1 steals per game for a Concordia team that finished 13-9 overall and 7-3 and tied for first place in the North Central Kansas League.
Joining Cash on the KBCA All-State second team include: Jaela Thompson, McPherson; Grace McCallpp, Shawnee Mission-Bishop Miege; Britt Zeka, Wellington; Leah Dietrich, Ottawa; and Lexi Hecht, Wamego.
First team All-State picks include: Kirston Verhulst, Shawnee Mission-Bishop Midge; Val Norwood, Wellington; Karter Alford, McPherson; Keegan Yarick, Fort Scott; Mary Grant, Shawnee Mission-Bishop Miege; and Elizabeth Tjaden, Clearwater.
Henderson, a 5-8 guard, averaged 14.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest for a Concordia team that finished 13-9 overall and 7-3 and in second place in the NCKL.
Also receiving All-State honorable mention include: Kaiden Abasolo, Mulvane; Hudson Baker, Labette County; Trey Carter, Atchison; Kelan Gruver, Chapman; Spencer Hecht, Wamego; Xiomar Hernandez, Atchison; Lars Koester, Chanute; Isaac Martin, Hugoton; Aiden McCullough, Ottawa; Stocton Timbrook, Abilene; and Talan Torrez, Baldwin.
First team selections include: Cooper Carr, Baldwin; Brax Fisher, Abilene; Dasean Lewis, Hugoton; Gabe Pyle, McPherson; Jeter Purdy, Atchison; and Kyden Thompson, McPherson.
Second team selections include: Coley Burgess, Rock Creek; Conner Chadwell, Circle; Logan Garner, El Dorado; Izeyah Harris, Hugoton; Cory Muehler, McPherson; and Logan Sullivan, Eudora.
Third team selections include: Austin Baalmann, Andale; Ethan Koehn, Circle; Rocco Loffredo, Fort Scott; Arley Morrell, Pratt; Cole Pladson, Clay Center; and Jackson Rumford, Scott City.
