Iowa Western shuts out T-Birds

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — In matchup of ranked teams, seventh-ranked Iowa Western Community College shut out 16th-ranked Cloud County Community College 55-0 in a dual on Wednesday.
Iowa Western had six wrestlers ranked in the top 10 in the 10 weight classes.
Cloud County's Blayne Harris, ranked second, would suffer a 7-4 loss to ninth-ranked Camden Russell in the 125-pound class.
Blake Leiszler, 133 pounds, lost by technical fall to fourth-ranked LaDamien Sturdivant, 19-2.
Iowa Western would win the next three matches by pin.
Sixth-ranked Max Hughes pinned Chandler Schoenberger in the 141-pound class.
Melvin Hernandez, ranked fifth, won by fall over Nate Normandin in the 149-pound class.
Chance Fry, 157 pounds, pinned Tristin Hauck.
Cloud County gave up a forfeit to top-ranked Isaiah Crosby in the 165-pound class.
Dante Harper lost by technical fall to Michael Waggoner, 19-4, in the 174-pound class.
Micah Sterling, 184 pounds, was pinned by Josh McFarland.
Kevin Murry lost by fall to ninth-ranked Dillyn Miller in the 197-pound class.
Seventh-ranked Elwin Trejo was pinned by Colin Braun in the 285-pound class.
Cloud County will compete in the Wayland Baptist University Open in Plainview, Texas, on Saturday.
