Mahin named Coach of the Year

Cloud County Community College cross country coach Drew Mahin has been selected as the USTFCCA NJCAA Men's Coach of the Year.
Now in his seventh season as the Cloud County head coach, Mahin led the men's team to its first NJCAA national championship.
Cloud County, with just six runners on the roster, won the national meet in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Thunderbirds, ranked number one throughout the season, won the Region VI Championships with 35 points. There were seven ranked teams competing, including four ranked in the top 10.
Cloud County won the Ollie Isom Invitational with a perfect score of 15 points.
The T-Birds won the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic, it was the top junior college team in the Chile Pepper Festival, the Emporia State University Invitational, the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational and the Augustana Twilight Meet.
Mahin was also named the USTFCCA NJCAA Central Region Coach of the Year and the NJCAA Region VI Coach of the Year.
