Second-ranked Coffeyville downs T-Birds

Second-ranked Coffeyville Community College handed the 13th-ranked Cloud County Community College volleyball team a 3-1 Jayhawk Conference East Division loss Wednesday night at Bryant Gymnasium.
Cloud County, now 18-5 overall and 3-3 in the Jayhawk East, was tied with Coffeyville 8-8 in the first set.
The Red Ravens, 29-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play, went on a 10-1 run to open up an 18-9 lead.
Coffeyville would win the set, 25-14.
Cloud County, getting out to a 15-7 advantage, would even the match at 1-1 with a 25-16 victory in the second set.
Winning the third set 25-17, the Red Ravens led 2-1.
Coffeyville capped off the win by taking the fourth set, 25-19.
Dayana Chara led the Cloud County attack with 18 kills.
Emelys Martinez added 12 kills.
Riley Bontrager finished with 40 assists and 16 digs.
Willow Hunt had a team high 17 digs.
Cloud County hosts Southeast (Neb.) Community College and 10th-ranked Highland Community College at 3 p.m. Friday.
