Two Panthers place in Beloit Invitational

BELOIT — Hunter Schroeder and Jordan Anguish recorded top five finishes for the Concordia High School wrestling team in the Beloit Invitational that finished up Saturday.
Schroeder placed second in the 160-pound class for Concordia.
Anguish finished fifth in the 113-pound class for the Panthers.
Concordia scored 52 points and placed 16th as a team.
Blue Valley Southwest won the tournament with 198 points. Marysville was second with 184 and Colby was third with 164.
Schroeder, who is 19-2 on the season, received a bye in the opening round. He pinned Dakota Laun, Abilene, in the third-period in a quarterfinal matchup.
Pinning Noah Ackerman, Marysville, in the second period in the semifinals, Schroeder advanced to the championship match.
Unbeaten Dayton Porsch, Hoxie, pinned Schroeder in 1:53 in the finals.
Anguish suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Breckin Sauvage, Oberlin, in the opening round.
Moving into the consolation bracket, Anguish received a bye. He defeated Garrett Kalivoda, Clay Center 15-10 and pinned Jesse Mackey, Plainville in the third period.
Brett Umentum, Blue Valley Southwest, pinned Anguish in the consolation semifinals.
Anguish (14-9) won a 13-2 major decision over Justin Rakestraw, Silver Lake, in the fifth-place match.
Sajen Kemling, 106 pounds; Eastan Hake, 145 pounds; and Keyan Miller, 152 pounds, picked up two wins each for Concordia.
Kemling (16-3) pinned Jackson Pickney, Smith Center, in 1:36. He lost by fall to Kaleb Stroda, Abilene.
In the consolation bracket, Kemling pinned Tyler Fief, Riley County, in 1:16.
Kemling was then pinned by Reece Grafel, Oberlin.
Hake (11-9) lost by fall to Chantz Vath, Lincoln, in the opening round. He won a 6-4 decision over Tyler Redmond, Silver Lake, and an 8-6 decision over Jacob Kirchoff, Smith Center.
Joey Mockin, Marysville, defeated Hake, 6-0.
Miller (16-5) pinned Ryan Lindell, Riley County, in the first round.
Jacob Conrad, Smith Center, defeated Miller 6-5 in the quarterfinals.
Miler won a 13-4 major decision over Cade Lanning, Colby. He then lost 7-5 to Derek Roever, Marysville.
Toby Wahlmeier, 126 pounds, lost by fall to Grayden Jackson, Riley County, and lost by fall to Joe Stocker, Smith Center.
Cade Anderson, 132 pounds, lost by technical fall (18-2) to Tate Kadel, Beloit, and was pinned by Wyatt Tubbs, Colby.
Nathan Brown lost an 11-1 decision to Jackson Randles, Abilene in the first round in the 138-pound class. He received a bye and the lost by fall to Bryce Ashbaugh, Hill City.
Layton Kindel, 170 pounds, pinned Dawson Schwartz, Silver Lake, in the first round. He lost by technical fall to Jordan Finnesy, Plainville, and lost by fall to Jalen Basart, Stockton.
Robert Trost, 182 pounds, was pinned by Kory Finley, Colby, and was pinned by Braden Burks, Beloit.
Dalton Owen, 220 pounds, lost by fall to Keegan McDonald. He received a bye and then lost by fall to Tra Barrientes, Lincoln.
Trevor Wilson, 285 pounds, lost by fall to Juan Interial, Holcomb, received a bye and lost by fall to Brandon Baker, Hoxie.
Concordia will compete in the Andover Invitational on Saturday.
