Altha Elaine (Ives) Yoxall, age 92, entered into rest on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Hays, Kansas, on June 29, 1928, to Harold and Hilma (Fischer) Ives.
She was a 1946 graduate of Stockton High School, Stockton, Kansas. She was a 1983 Cloud County Community College graduate, receiving her associate degree in nursing.
On December 28, 1946, she married Edward Yoxall in Phillipsburg, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2004.
Elaine worked at the St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia as a registered nurse for 25-plus years before retiring. She was member of the American Legion and VFW, Concordia, Kansas.
Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing marbles, crocheting and knitting and watching the KC Royals' and Chief's games.
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Yoxall (Jacquelyn), Wichita, Kan., Scott Yoxall, Concordia, Kan.; five grandchildren, Nicole Green, Wichita, Kan., Kristin Rausch (Jared), Haysville, Kan., Leslie Robertson (Bill), Mulvane, Kan., Rachelle Ngo (Chris), Andover, Kan., Nic Yoxall, Wichita, Kan.; 15 great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jordon Paul, Allie, Colin, and Isabella Green, Garrett and Ryder Rausch, Reece and Paige Robertson, Ashton, Kali, Laykkn, and Knox Ngo and Elizabeth Yoxall; and two sisters, Ruth Fenton (Raleigh), Stockton, Kan., Dixie Rose, Wagner, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, parents, Harold and Hilma, three brothers, A.J. Ives, Max Ives, Dean Ives, and two sisters, Norma Moore and Joyce Keeton.
It was Elaine’s wishes to have been cremated.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Dwight Whitead officiating.
