Arland “Arlan” Benteman, age 94, died on March 18, 2026, in Clay Center, KS. He was born in Winkler, KS, to Gust and Lena (Dahm) Benteman on December 3, 1931.
Arlan was raised in the Peach Grove community and was a graduate of Randolph High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State College of Agriculture. Arlan married Shirley Burk on January 30, 1955. They made their home and farmed near Clifton since the late 1950s. Arlan was a member of the Belleville Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Survivors include wife Shirley Benteman, Clay Center, KS; sons Gary Benteman of Clifton, KS, and Glen (Jan) Benteman of Clifton, KS; daughter Linda (Steve) Hawkins of IL; grandchildren Logan (Krystal) Benteman, Ryan (Ashley) Benteman, Brishen Hawkins and McKinley Hawkins; 3 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Clifton, KS, with burial following at Pleasant View Cemetery, Vining, Kansas. Belleville Masonic Lodge #129 will perform Masonic Rites at the graveside.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, with family greeting from 5-7 p.m., March 25, 2026, at the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Clifton.
