Austin J. Thoman, age 89, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at his residence in Concordia, Kansas. He was born August 21, 1931, in Glasco, Kansas, to Raymond and Jearl (Kennedy) Thoman.
He worked for Leland Reed Trucking, Concordia, Kansas, as a truck driver for 43 years.
On August 2, 1957, he married Beverly Copple, in Concordia, Kansas, and they recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. To this union four children were born, Franklin, Randy, Laurie, and Carl.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Thoman of the home in Concordia, Kan.; son, Randy Thoman (Debbie), Concordia, Kan.; daughter, Laurie Deal (Brad), Concordia, Kan.; son, Carl Thoman (Daniel Houk), KC, Mo.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Thoman (Lorrie), of Ariz., Ted Thoman, Concordia, Kan.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jearl; son, Franklin Thoman; granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Deal; brothers, Wilfred, Wayne, Lloyd, Orley, Myron, Boyd, Bob; sisters, Cleo Dykes, Phyliss Franks, Joyce Hanson, Shirley Thoman, Mamie Aldridge, Janice Phelps, Geneva Nordquist.
Due to Covid virus restrictions the family has requested a private family graveside service.
Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 21, 2020, at the Morrison Cemetery with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later time and place for family and friends.
