Hosting neighbor Republic County for the opening doubleheader of the 2026 season, the Concordia High School baseball team swept the Buffaloes 36-0 across the two games.
Versus Republic County, the Panthers took game one 15-0.
After a three-up-three-down top of the first inning for the Buffaloes, the Panthers grabbed the momentum early, with Brandon Vignery and Boone Richard scoring to take an early 2-0 lead.
Another Buffalo three-up-three-down inning gave way to a seven-run bottom of the second inning, with Chane Parker, Koehn Williams, Vignery, Richard, Ayden Krier, Parker Jackson, and Drake Blcohlinger all scoring for the Panthers, to lead 9-0.
With their third straight three-up-three-down inning of the game, the Panthers poured on four more runs from Maxon Frey, Vignery, Krier, and Jackson to push the lead to 13-0.
Republic County finally got their first hit in the top of the fourth, but the inning was quickly retired. Williams and Schroeder scored for the Panthers to end the game by run rule, 15-0, for the first win of the season.
In game two, the Panthers won 21-0.
After a quick top of the first inning, the Panthers put away the game early, scoring 17 runs in the bottom of the first inning.
After another quick ending to the top of the second inning, Concordia brought in four more runs to make it 21-0, and with a four-batter top of the third, the Panthers completed the doubleheader sweep by run rule.
