CHS baseball sweeps Marysville

MARYSVILLE — In the middle part of its six-game road stretch, the Concordia High School baseball team dominated NCKL rival Marysville in a sweep.

In game one, the Panthers won 4-1.

It would be a slow start for the Panther bats, only tallying two hits after four innings, with Kale Schroeder having a double in the second, and Parker Jackson having a single in the fourth. Chane Parker and the Panther defense did their best to limit any damage, keeping Marysville off the board until the bottom of the fourth inning, when a walk, error, fielder’s choice, and a passed ball allowed a runner to score.

The strong Panther offense showed up in the sixth inning, with Boone Richard, Drake Blochlinger, Chane Parker, and Schroeder all scoring to put the Panthers up three, 4-1. A three-up-three-down sixth inning and a four-batter inning gave the Panthers the game one win.

In game two, the Panthers won 17-2.

The Concordia bats were on fire early, with Richard, Blochlinger, and Jackson all scoring, with Parker and Schroeder in scoring position before the first inning ended with the Panthers leading 3-0. The second inning continued with six runs scored, with Blochlinger, Ayden Krier, Jackson, Parker, Schroeder, and Rush LeDuc all crossing home plate to push the lead to nine. Continuing the onslaught into the third, eight more runs would be scored to make it a 17-0 game.

Marysville finally got on the board in the bottom of the third inning, scoring two runs before getting run-ruled.
