Press Release from the Concordia Police Report
Arrests
- On July 14, at 5:48 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Second Street. Upon further investigation, Gavin Christy Clough, Concordia, was arrested for driving on a revoked license. Clough was transported to Cloud County Corrections.
- On July 17, at 3:40 p.m., officers found Landon Larson, Concordia, in the 300 block of West Second Street. Larson was arrested on a Cloud County warrant for failure to appear and a City of Concordia warrant for failure to appear. Larson was transported to Cloud County Corrections.
- On July 17, at 6:33 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Cedar Street. Upon further investigation, Kaleb Grace, Washington, Kan., was arrested on a Cloud County warrant, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia. Grace was transported to Cloud County Corrections.
- On July 20, at 9:29 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Seventh Street for a report of a possible intoxicated female. Upon further investigation, Elizabeth Stratman, Topeka, was arrested for DUI, transporting an open container, child endangerment and interference with law enforcement. Stratman was transported to Cloud County Corrections.
Domestic
- On July 20, at 7:48 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of West 15th Street for a domestic incident. Officers determined a verbal argument only. No report needed.
Welfare check
- On July 14, at 2:28 a.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 300 block of West 17th Street.
- On July 14, at 11:23 a.m., officers responded to 140 East College Drive to check the welfare of a female individual. Officers contacted the subject and determined everything was okay.
- On July 16, at 8:57 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of West First Street to speak with an individual who wanted a welfare check done. Officers contacted the person in question and determined everything was okay.
- On July 17, at 8:05 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of East Seventh Street for a welfare check. Officers determined everything was okay.
- On July 18, at 8:03 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 500 block of East 17th Street. Officers were unable to contact anyone at the residence.
- On July 18, at 9:18 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 200 block of East 13th Street. Officers contacted the individual and everything was okay.
Suspicious person
- On July 15, at 1:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 1800 block of State Street. it was found that an elderly male had left his residence. The family was contacted and picked up the subject in question.
- On July 18, at 11:48 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East 12th Street for a report of a suspicious person. Officers contacted the person in question and determined that everything was okay.
Suspicious activity
- On July 18, at 9:52 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of State Street for a report of suspicious activity in the cemetery. Officers were unable to find anyone in the cemetery.
Illegal dumping
- On July 13, at 9:24 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Washington Street for a report of illegal trash dumping. Officers contacted all parties involved. No report needed at this time.
Theft
- On July 15, at 1:46 p.m., the Catholic Church reported that an unknown person stole two radios from the library room. Investigation is ongoing.
- On July 16, at 8:09 a.m., officers took a theft report at 1020 Lincoln Street. An employee with Shortstop reported that an unknown person stole diesel fuel. Investigation is ongoing.
- On July 17, at 8:39 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Mill Street for a report of theft of services. Investigation is ongoing.
- On July 20, at 4:29 p.m., officers responded to Seventh and Doster Street for a report of a theft. While on scene, the missing items were located. No report was needed.
Pedestrian check
- On July 17, at 12:07 a.m., officers conducted a pedestrian check in the alley of 200 West Sixth Street. Officers determined everything was okay.
Alarm
On July 16, at 8:38 a.m., officers responded to a business alarm in the 1500 block of Sixth Street. Officers determined it was a false alarm.
On July 17, at 8:16 p.m., officers responded to a business alarm in the 100 block of West Sixth Street. Officers determined everything was okay.
Incident
- On July 16, at 12:06 p.m., officers spoke with individuals at the police department regarding an incident at the pool. Investigation is ongoing.
Fire
- On July 16, at 6:59 p.m., officers responded to 3070 Blosser Drive for a report of a large tree on fire. Concordia Fire also responded and the fire was put out.
- Traffic stop—On July 18, at 7:35 a.m., officers received a report of an elderly male with dementia driving his car in Concordia. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The family was notified and picked up the driver.
Parking complaint
- On July 18, at 1:57 p.m., officers received a parking complaint in the 700 block of Lincoln Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicles in question.
- On July 19, at 5:40 a.m., officers responded to 140 East College Drive for a parking complaint. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and moved the vehicle to a proper location.
Civil dispute
- On July 19, at 3:31 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of East 10th Street regarding a civil dispute. No report needed.
- On July 20, at 6:34 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Washington Street for a civil dispute. No report needed.
Juveniles
- On July 19, at 8:49 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Cedar Street for a juvenile complaint. Officers located the juveniles in question and the parents were contacted.
Assist
On July 20, at 6:52 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of West First Street to assist another law enforcement agency. No report needed.
