Eagle track takes second place at Twin Valley League meet

BLUE RAPIDS — Matching up with every Twin Valley League team out in Blue Rapids for the second time in a week, the Clifton-Clyde track team picked up six first-place finishes, the second most in the meet.

The Clifton-Clyde boys and girls were second, with Axtell winning the boys title and Centralia winning the girls title.

In the girls’ 100m, Sevy Wurtz was first with a time of 12.53.

In the girls’ 100m hurdles, Paige Joy was seventh with a time of 17.88. Reese McCauley of Doniphan West was first with a time of 15.62.

In the girls’ 200m, Sevy Wurtz was second with a time of 26.22, and Gracie Bruna of Hanover was first with a time of 26.09.

In the boys’ 200m, Luke Nobert was third with a time of 24.05, and Aekley Goeckel was sixth with a time of 25.11. Landon Schmitz of Axtell was first with a time of 23.44.

In the girls’ 400m, Gracen Sacco was fourth with a time of 1:05.17, and Bruna (Hanover) was first with a time of 1:00.15.

In the boys’ 400m, Luke Nobert was first with a time of 51.63.

In the boys’ 800m, Remy Girard was 12th with a time of 2:23.52, and Titus Cobb of Blue Valley was first with a time of 2:03.26.

In the boys’ 1600m, Cohen Girard was third with a time of 4:44.77, and Cobb (BVR) was first with a time of 4:38.85.

In the boys’ 3200m, Cohen Girard was third with a time of 10:38.99, and Cobb (BVR) was first with a time of 10:38.99.

In the girls’ discus, Calyn Baker was first with a throw of 145’8.5”, breaking her own school record and the current number two throw in the state of Kansas; Sydney Huncovsky was sixth with a throw of 109’5”, Annika Wernecke was ninth with a throw of 88’4”, and Ellie Wurtz was 13th with a throw of 73’6”.

In the boys’ discus, Ryan LeClair was first with a throw of 145’8”, and Locklund Feight was second with a throw of 144’.

In the girls’ javelin, Paige Joy was fifth with a throw of 109’, and Katelyn Detweiler of Axtell was first with a throw of 120’6”.

In the boys’ javelin, Ryan LeClair was seventh with a throw of 132’10”, and Gavyn LeDuc of Washington County was first with a throw of 160’10”.

In the girls’ shot put, Calyn Baker was third with a throw of 37’4”, Ellie Wurtz was fifth with a throw of 35’5”, Sydney Huncovsky was seventh with a throw of 34’2.5”, and Annika Wernecke was eighth with a throw of 34’. Emmarsyn Fordham of Onaga was first with a throw of 40’3”.

In the boys’ shot put, Ryan LeClair was second with a throw of 44’7.5”, and Locklund Feight was sixth with a throw of 41’7.5”. Fred Rospuist of Frankfort was first with a throw of 48’.

In the girls’ high jump, Eden Close was seventh with a height of 4’8”, and Paige Joy was also ninth with a height of 4’8”. Bryleigh Brockman of Blue Valley was first with a height of 5’1”.

In the boys’ high jump, Jacob Newton was fifth with a height of 5’8, and Logan Sandmann of Axtell was first with a height of 6’8”.

In the girls’ long jump, Sevy Wurtz was first with a jump of 18’8.5”.

In the girls’ triple jump, Sevy Wurtz was second with a jump of 37’8”, and Lillie Weiser of Onaga was first with a jump of 37’10”.

In the girls’ pole vault, Jordi Fahey was second with a height of 10’, Nellie Fahey was third with a height of 9’6”, and Addie Walter was sixth with a height of 8’6”. Lillie Weiser of Onaga was first with a height of 10’6”.

In the boys’ pole vault, Brady Pruser was first with a height of 14’7”, breaking his own school record for the third time this year, and beating second place by over two and a half feet.

In the girls’ 4x100m relay, the team of Jordi Fahey, Nellie Fahey, Ellie Wurtz and Eden Close was seventh with a time of 56.51. Centralia was first with a time of 49.13.

In the boys’ 4x100m relay, the team of Aekley Goeckel, Kyzler Damman, Jacob Newton, and Trenton Benne was sixth with a time of 47.14. Axtell was first with a time of 44.68.

In the girls’ 4x400m relay, the team of Gracen Sacco, Kiersten Robbins, Lillie Crose and Piper Lawson was sixth with a time of 4:37.93. Hanover was first with a time of 4:02.79.

In the boys’ 4x400m relay, the team of Joseph Fahey, Striker Affolter, Luke Nobert and Aekley Goeckel was second with a time of 3:38.64. Axtell was first with a time of 3:34.74.

In the girls’ 4x800m relay, the team of Lillie Crose, Piper Lawson, Gracen Sacco, and Kiersten Robbins was fifth with a time of 11:36.23. Valley Heights was first with a time of 10:37.84.

In the boys’ 4x800m relay, the team of Striker Affolter, Joseph Fahey, Cohen Girard, and Remy Girard was third with a time of 9:02.65. Axtell was first with a time of 8:39.04.
