After defeating Frankfort on the road to open the season, the Clifton-Clyde football team had its home opener against Hanover, with the Eagles falling 56-6.

The Wildcats scored first on a pick-six early in the first quarter to go up 8-0, and after holding the Eagles to a three-and-out, would score again to take a quick 14-0 lead.

Hanover would keep its foot on the gas, and the Eagles’ offense would show some flashes, but the Wildcats just had Clifotn-Clyde’s number and would keep them off the scoreboard until 5:43 remaining in the second quarter. A 27-yard Kyzer Damman pass to Emitt Tiemeyer put the Eagles on the board 30-6.

The Wildcats didn’t let up and scored three more times in the half to go into the locker room with a 50-6 halftime lead, and after receiving the kickoff to start the half, drove down the field and scored a touchdown, ending the game by mercy rule 56-6.

Joseph Fahey went 8-14 passing for 55 yards with two interceptions, with nine carries for 29 yards on the ground.

Kyzler Damman went 4-5 passing for 59 yards and a touchdown, and six carries for 19 yards.

Gage LeClair had four receptions for 63 yards, with 27 yards on the ground on eight carries. Tiemeyer had two receptions for 39 yards and a toucdown.
