Eagles’ track takes home 21 top-three finishes in TVL meet

WASHINGTON — In the Twin Valley League meet in Washington County, the Clifton-Clyde Eagles’ track team won three of the four categories, winning in the boys and girls junior varsity, with the boys varsity finishing second.

VARSITY RESULTS

100m dash — Girls: Sevy Wurtz won gold with a time of 12.37 and broke the school record.

200m dash — Girls: Sevy Wurtz won gold with a time of 26.36. Boys: Luke Nobert was fifth with a time of 24.43, Carter Olsen of Frankfort was first with a time of 22.28.

400m dash — Girls Lillian Steinbrock was fifth with a time of 1:05.1. Anna Jueneman of Hanover was first with a time of 59.75. Boys: Joseph Fahey was fourth with a time of 53.48. Camron Jueneman of Hanover was first with a time of 51.55.

800m run — Girls: Gracen Sacco was fourth with a time of 2:39.4. Kiersten Robbins was sixth with a time of 2:48.92. McKenzie Baker of Washington County was first with a time of 2:28.57. Boys: Striker Affolter was second with a time of 2:07.73, and Landon Begnoche was sixth with a time of 2:14.7. Gavin Shaugnessy of Axtell was first with a time of 2:06.48.

1,600m run — Boys: Landon Begnoche was second with a time of 4:50.32, and Cohen Girard was third with a time of 4:50.57. Shaugnessy (Axtell) was first with a time of 4:46.68.

3,200m run — Boys: Cohen Girard won gold with a time of 10:34.13. Landon Begnoche was second with a time of 10:41.31.

4x400m relay — Boys: the team of Striker Affolter, Joseph Fahey, Luke Nobert, and Jack Skocny was second with a time of 3:36.16. Axtell was first with a time of 3:29.89.

4x800m relay — Girls: the team of Piper Lawson, Lillian Steinbrock, Jaci Winter, and Gracen Sacco won gold with a time of 10:44.57. Boys: the team of Striker Affolter, Landon Begnoche, Joseph Fahey, and Cohen Girard was second with a time of 8:41.72. Axtell was first with a time of 8:29.8.

High Jump — Girls: Paige Joy was third with a height of 5’ (three-way tie for first). Bryleigh Brockman of Blue Valley-Randolph was first with a height of 5’. Boys: Jack Skocny was third with a height of 6’. Logan Sandmann of Axtell was first with a height of 6’8”.

Long Jump — Girls: Sevy Wurtz won gold with a jump of 18’8”.

Triple Jump — Sevy Wurtz was second with a jump of 37’9.5”. Gracie Bruna of Hanover was first with a jump of 39’1.5”

Discus — Girls: Calyn Baker won gold with a throw of 123’11”. Sydney Huncovsky was sixth with a throw of 106’8”. Boys: Locklund Feight was second with a throw of 141’. Octavien Cardenas of Washington County was first with a throw of 149’.

Javelin — Girls: Paige Joy was third with a throw of 110’1”. Jesse Hoover of Washington County was first with a throw of 145’4”. 

Shot Put — Girls: Calyn Baker won gold with a throw of 40’3”. Boys: Locklund Feight was second with a throw of 47’11”. Cardenas (Wash. Co.) was first with a throw of 52’1”.

Pole Vault — Girls: Jordi Fahey was second with a height of 10’6”. Lillie Weiser of Onaga was first with a height of 11’. Boys: Brady Pruser won gold with a height of 13'6".
