Eagles volleyball go 2-3 in home opener tournament

In the official home opener of the season with the Clifton-Clyde Invitational, which hosted an array of schools from Wamego to even a school from Nebraska, the Eagle volleyball team went 2-3 on the day.

In pool play, the Eagles went 2-1. In round one, the Eagles defeated St. John’s-Tipton 2-1. The Eagles took set one 26-24, dropped set two 27-25, and won the match with a 25-21 set three victory.

In round two, the Eagles defeated Troy 2-1. The Eagles won set one 25-22, before dropping set two 25-13, before taking the match with a 25-21 set three win.

In round three to end pool play, the Eagles fell to Hanover 2-0. The Wildcats took set one 25-17 and set two 25-14. Hanover went undefeated and won the whole tournament.

In bracket play, the Eagles fell to Linn 2-0. The Bulldogs took set one

In the consolation bracket, the Eagles fell to Wamego 2-1. The Red Raiders took set one 25-14, with the Eagles taking set two 25-23, before ending the day falling 25-16.
