BELLEVILLE — Concordia F&A travelled to Belleville to take on the Raptors in league play, with F&A falling 14-2.
Belleville jumped ahead in the bottom of the first inning 2-0, after a clean top of the first.
F&A got some offense building in the top of the second inning, with Elijah Shepard getting a leadoff walk, Bruno Eubanks getting hit by a pitch, and a two-RBI double by Bailey Streit to tie the game 2-2. The Raptors responded by scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the second, and scoring eight runs before the second out.
Concordia’s first two batters in the third were walked to open the inning, before three straight outs ended the inning. The Raptors scored one run and had a runner on third to start the bottom of the third, but three straight outs ended the game 14-2.
Traveling to Clay Center to take on the 16U Tigers, Concordia F&A fell 19-0.
F&A’s bats struggled in the contest, with a three-up-three-down top of the first inning. After a Tiger flyout to first base to open the bottom of the first inning, Clay Center scored three straight runs on three hits, before two straight flyouts ended the first inning, 3-0.
Things would be marginally better for F&A, with another three-up-three-down inning with two strikeouts and a groundout. Clay Center’s offense exploded in the second inning, with 10 runs scored before a flyout to second base got the first out of the inning. The Tigers scored six more runs before the inning ended with the Tigers leading 19-0.
Concordia would get on base for the first time when Jaxon Collins got hit by a pitch to lead off the third, before three straight outs ended the game in the third.
