We’ve been talking about life after death experiences.  One proof of life after death is when those who die and then return to life tell about meeting deceased relatives on the other side.

Pim Van Lommel tells about a little girl named Sandra who lost consciousness because of encephalitis.  Once she recovered, she began drawing a picture of another child.  Van Lommel writes …

“When she told her parents what she was drawing, they became ashen and left the room. Later, they returned and told her about the sister she never knew she had, who was struck by a car and died before Sandra was born.”

The point was that the child she had met while unconscious was in fact the sister she never knew she had.

D. Wilson tells of an adult who had a near-death experience as a child.  During that experience, he became aware of ... some presences there.   He saw some ladies and said about them, "I didn’t know them at the time. . . . They were so loving and so wonderful and I just didn’t want to come back. . . . I didn’t see any pictures of them until I was an adult, but then I said, 'Oh, yeah, those are the ladies I saw.’  They were my great-grandmothers who had died years before I was born."

Dr. Emily Kelly reports that when people experience dreams or visions they nearly always see people they know who are currently living.  By contrast, near-death experiencers almost always tell about meeting people who are deceased.  Only 4% of them see people who are currently living.  By contrast a whopping 96% say that they see people who have passed on.

Sometimes they tell of seeing someone who they believed was living, but had in fact died.  One woman told of seeing her sister Virginia.  Her sister met her in Heaven and told her she needed to return back to life again.  Upon waking she asked her family whether Virginia was living or dead.  Her family responded, “Your sister died two days ago, but we didn’t want to bear such bad news while you were sick.”

To me, these experiences point to something that is very real.  How can a little girl know of her deceased sister any other way?  God is real.  Heaven is real.  We need to be ready for both.
