A Celebration of Life for Irma (Ames) Brewer was held by her immediate family on July 3, 2021. She died November 12, 2020, at the age of 89. The family gathered at their ancestral farm for a walk to the Valley Cemetery SE of Norway, Kansas. There they placed stones and flowers at the graveside. They then crossed the road to the former Norway depot that she and her husband, Dean, had moved and restored as their home. Bubbles were sent to heaven by her great-grandchildren, and all shared memories and letters from Irma. The celebration concluded with a BBQ picnic meal, traditional hand-cranked homemade ice cream and fireworks. Attending were children and spouses: Dana and Tina Brewer, Diane Johnson, JoDee and Mark Rothfuss, Sheri and Kevin Johnson; grandchildren and spouses: Sarah and Joseph Hauber, Isaac and Samantha Rothfuss, Joshua Johnson and girlfriend Sarah Carollo, Ashleigh Johnson, Marie and Garrett Brummett, and Addison and Daniel Lopez; great-grandchildren: Dean and Amelia Hauber. Son-in-law, Rick Johnson, was unable to attend. Pictured is Irma as a senior at Concordia High School.
