Joan McCollough, 90, Concordia, KS received her wings on June 7, at Belleville Healthcare Center, Belleville, KS. She was born in Aurora, KS to Leo “Jack” and Hazel Regnier. She grew up and graduated from Aurora High School, Aurora, KS.
She put herself through nursing school, and graduated with an RN degree from Marymount College, Salina, KS in 1958. Joan worked for over 40 years, as a nurse, at St. Joseph Hospital and Mt. Joseph in Concordia, KS. She loved Jesus and her family more than anything in her life, which was exemplified by her selfless love and time given to her family, friends and her church. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Catholic Church, and the Wesleyan Church in Concordia, Kansas. She was admired and loved by many. She lived the “sacrifice” of Mark 12:42-44. A loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Proceeded in death by her parents, sister: Jacqueline Thoman, brother: Leroy Regnier and son: Rodney McCollough. She will be remembered and missed by her daughters: Rebecca Regnier, Rachel Price (Rob), and her son, Robert McCollough (Amy).
Her Grandchildren: Joshua Freeborn (Danielle), Benjamin Freeborn (Thera), Jaime Rovenstine (Tyler), Madison Picolet, Carson Klima (Kevin), Jedediah McCollough, Corey Drake (Amanda), Ariel Troutman (Zach), Preston Timmons, Alex McCollough (Alix), Savannah Price, Katherine Smith (Caleb), Micah McCollough, Sydney Regnier (Damian), Jason McCollough (Sidney).
Her Great Grandchildren: Kymry Hoesli, Sawyer Ritterling, Frances Rovenstine, Elizabeth Freeborn, Charlotte Freeborn, Iris Regnier, Wilder Regnier, Eilanora Troutman, Ronin Freeborn, Frederick Rovenstine, Selena McCollough, Logan Drake, Hazel Picolet, Asher Freeborn, Micah Troutman, Raber Drake, Katelyn Freeborn, Ireland Troutman, and Elizabeth McCollough.
A special thank you to her nieces: Missy Casey and Rae Skocny, who helped take care of their Aunt Joan for many years. Their loyalty and love did not go unnoticed.
