Jose Hernandez was born in Odem, Texas, and entered into rest at the age of 88, at 10:19 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Concordia, Kansas, very peacefully in the arms of his grandson, Xavier I. Valle.
Jose was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Hernandez; brother, Juan Nino, and youngest brother, Ramon Gonzalez.
He is survived by his six adult children, Maria Alvarado, Jose Hernandez, Yolanda Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Angie Hernandez, and Lupita Hernandez; sister, Juanna Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Mary Castellano, Rosa Castellano, and Marina Castellano; brothers-in-law, Isaac Castellano, and Estaban Castellano, and all his grandchildren.
Jose loved to sing and played guitar and his accordion. His last two jobs were working in the Dallas school district as a bus driver and as a security guard.
He will be buried in Texas.
