UPDATED: New York resident dies in rollover crash near Glasco on Wednesday

Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) staff have released further information about the fatality crash on Wednesday, June 11, near Glasco.

According to the KHP Online Crash Logs, 72-year-old Smith Center, Kan., resident Kathy Hansen was driving eastbound on U.S. Highway 24 when she crossed the center line around 5:04 p.m.

At milepost 246, a few miles east of Glasco, Hansen's 2023 GMC Acadia struck a westbound 2012 Ford Taurus head-on, driven by 18-year-old Canandaigua, N.Y., resident Harry Hodge.

Hodge's Ford Taurus then rolled and struck the guard rail, finally resting in U.S. 24's north ditch. KHP staff reported that Hodge had a fatal injury on the scene, and transported him to a local mortuary after the crash.

New York State Police notified Hodge's next of kin early Thursday morning around 1:15 a.m.

KHP staff also noted in the report that Hansen had a suspected serious injury, and was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.

The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) released some details about a fatality crash yesterday evening, Wednesday, June 11, but the identity of the dead driver remains unknown.

According to the KHP Online Crash Logs, an eastbound vehicle on U.S. Highway 24 crossed the center line around 5:04 p.m. at milepost 246, near Glasco, and collided with a westbound vehicle head-on.

KHP service members identified the crash as a fatality, but staff will not release further details until the next of kin are notified.

According to the report, the westbound vehicle rolled after the head-on collision, and struck the guard rail. The car finally stopped in U.S. Highway 24’s north ditch.
