Karen Eby, age 82, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Newton Medical Center, Newton, KS. She was born on June 12, 1943, in Newton, KS, to Edwin & Zella (Marshall) Grace.
She graduated from Newton High School in 1961.
When she came to Concordia in 1967, she began working as a secretary for the physical therapy & later nursing departments at St. Joseph Hospital and later Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS, for over 30 years until her retirement in 2016. She also worked for Wal-Mart in the jewelry department until 2010.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Concordia, and P.E.O.
She is survived by her daughter, Tricia Koester (Roger), Concordia; grandchildren, Gavin Koester (Hannah), Garet Koester (Hannah) & Jaida Koester; great grandchildren, Graham, Jude, Silas & Charlotte Koester and Clayton & Emma Koester, and her brother-in-law, Frank Moore, Wichita, KS.
She was preceded in death her parents; sister, Carole Moore; brother, Richard Grace; and a grandson, Grant Koester.
The family selected cremation, and a Memorial Service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026, with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Private family burial will be at Nelson Cemetery, Huscher, KS, at a later date. Friends may sign the register book on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
