Kathleen J. Kirgis, 82, formerly of Jewell, Kansas, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019, at Sunset Home in Concordia, after a lengthy hospital stay. She was born July 31, 1937, to Anne and Roy Teasley.
Kathleen was raised in Glasco, and moved to Beloit with her children when they were young. Later, she married George Kirgis and moved to the family farm in Jewell County. She loved her gardening and everything that went with living and working on the farm. Kathleen was a kind-hearted, thoughtful person who would do most anything for anyone, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Lisa Asch and husband Brad, of Moore, Oklahoma, and Laurie Huezo of Concordia. She has two grandsons, Lucas Huezo and his family of California, and Nathan Asch of Norman, Oklahoma. Kathleen is also survived by her sister Carolyn Thrapp and her husband Murl, of Glasco, Kansas.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Delbert Teasley and Elwin Teasley, and her son Stephan Annis.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (805 12th Street and Highway 81) in Belleville, Kansas, on Friday, December 27, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow for family and friends at Norway School Auditorium off Highway 148.
