Laura Ihrig, age 57, of Lincoln, died Friday, February 7, 2020. She was born on September 20, 1962, in Blair, Neb., to James and Clara (Thompson) Ihrig. She attended high school in Concordia, Kan., graduating in 1979 and received her B.A. from Kansas State University in 1983.
Laura enjoyed a lifetime of learning that was a trait she shared with her father. She had a special interest in anthropology and had a paper published in "Nebraska Anthropologist" about the aging in America. Laura was also a very skilled artist and really enjoyed drawing outdoor scenes related to our family history.
Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Marcy and Kyle Clark of Bennington; granddaughter, Elise Clark of Bennington; mother, Clara Ihrig of Lincoln; sisters, Sarah Ihrig of Bennington and Amy Ihrig of Overland Park, Kan.; and many loved uncles, aunts, and cousins. Preceded in death by her father, James Ihrig.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Southwood Lutheran Church. Pastor Michael Ryan will officiate. Interment will be PRIVATE in Lincoln Memorial Park. At the request of the Ihrig family there will be no public viewing/visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family for further designation.
