Loren Lee Pounds was born on July 31, 1951, in Norton, Kansas, to Norma and Edwin Pounds. He passed away on September 30, 2024, jeeping in the beautiful mountains in Colorado on Stony Pass.
On December 27, 1975, he married the love of his life, Gerry. He lived a life full of adventure and love and cherished every moment with her as his soulmate. Together they built a family by giving life to Hillary and Brandan, and shared countless memories that will be remembered in their loving hearts forever.
Loren was a true enthusiast of life, with passions that included jeeping, motorcycle riding, fishing, hunting, traveling, and especially, being in the mountains. He found joy in the great outdoors and cherished the moments spent in nature where he felt the most at home. He passed away doing what he loved best, witnessing the beauty of the mountains and the changing aspens.
Loren touched the lives of so many people with his kindness, adventurous spirit, and love for life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Loren is survived by his beloved wife, Gerry; his son, Brandan Pounds (Amanda); his daughter, Hillary Koch (Jared); his grandchildren, Gavin and Grace Koch; his father, Edwin Pounds; and his sister, Judy Donnalley (Don). He is preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Pounds.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9 at the Glasco Cemetery in Glasco, Kansas, with Celebrant Jim Winter, PMA, officiating.
