Luis Lemos

Luis Lemos, age 76, Concordia, KS, resident, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.

Luis was born April 22, 1949, to Francisco and Livramento Lemos, on the island of Terceira Acores. Luis immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 18 in 1968 and became an American Citizen in 1995. Luis lived the majority of his life in San Jose, California, and the last 8 years in Concordia, his wife’s hometown.

Luis had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his empathy for animals (he never met an animal that he didn’t want to take home). He loved fishing, the San Francisco 49ers, espresso coffee, and Portuguese food. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Luis is survived by his loving wife, Sue Lemos of 54 years; his two sons, Derek and Mark Lemos; three granddaughters, Korryn and Sidney from California, Alyssa and great-grandson Randall from Tennessee; sisters, Filomena and Lucy from California, Dorothy from Tennessee; nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; cousins; and friends.

Luis is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Maria Lemos; brother, Francisco; sister, Amelia; his grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.

Cremation was chosen.
