Marie E. Higgins, 80, of Salina, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023. She was born in Concordia to D.L. “Heavy” and Rita (Bombardier) Layton on September 7, 1942. She married Lawrence “Larry” Higgins on May 5, 1962, in Concordia, Kansas. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister-in-law, Janet Layton; brother-in-law, Raymond Higgins, and one grandchild. Left to mourn her are her children, Annette Saint (Curtis), Alan Higgins (Shanna), David Higgins (Cheryl), Denis Higgins (Cindy), and Rita Johnston (Scott); 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Layton, and sister-in-law, Sarah Higgins. Cremation was chosen and no services are planned at this time.
