Michael Dean Saunders, 76 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Sunset Nursing Home in Concordia.
He was born on July 11, 1950, in Concordia, Kansas, to Chester L. and Elizabeth F. (Parrish) Saunders, Sr.
Michael was a graduate of Concordia High School in the Class of 1968.
Michael served in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years and retired from the US Army National Guard after 20 years of service. He was honorably discharged.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #76 Concordia, Kansas.
Michael worked at the Concordia Senior Center in the Kitchen for many years, helping out with multiple duties. He was also a truck driver.
He enjoyed motorcycles and being in the military. He took care of Mom and Dad in their later years.
Michael is survived by his three brothers, Chester Leroy Saunders, Jr., Concordia, KS, Robert (Diana) Saunders of Lindsborg, KS, David (Donna) Saunders of Inman, KS; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Elizabeth, 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and 2 great nieces.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Nelson Center Cemetery, Rural Huscher, Kansas, with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corp and Local American Legion Post #76 of Concordia, Kansas.
