Nadyne Marie (Richard) Castonguay, age 87, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Vintage Park Gardner, Kansas.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m.  Saturday,  July 20, 2024 with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Divine Mercy Catholic church, 555 W. Main St., Gardner, Kansas. Inurnment services will be at St Peter’s Cemetery, Meredtih Township, Cloud County Kansas following mass and luncheon in Gardner Kan. Nadyne was born November 22, 1936 in Concordia, Kansas, to Raymond and Edith (Avery) Richard. She was the first of 6 children. She grew up in Meredith Township, Cloud County Kansas and attended St Peter’s Catholic Church.  She graduated from Concordia High school class of 1955, then attended Marymount College Nursing School, Salina Kan., receiving her Diploma in nursing.

Nadyne was united in marriage to A. Wade Castonguay, May 29, 1958, at St Peter’s Catholic church Meredith township Kansas.   As a young couple they moved to Arizona for several years then returned to the Concordia area. 

Nadyne was a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for many years, during which she worked in labor and delivery, emergency room, medical/surgical floor, and mental health unit. She was a nurse manager and nursing supervisor for many years. In 2002 she moved to Olathe, Kansas and was employed at Olathe Medical center until her retirement. Nadyne was an excellent, caring, and knowledgeable nurse who touched many lives.   

She was an active member of Divine Mercy parish in Gardner.  She was a member of the Legion of Mary, and enjoyed singing in the choir and volunteering for many committees in the parish and serving the Lord.

Nadyne was an adventurous traveler having visited the Holy Land, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, and Egypt. She enjoyed celebrating milestones with family and friends and would drive several hours for birthday parties, recitals, graduations, or just to spend time with family. Nadyne was an animal lover from her kitties, raccoons, ferrets, to her cows.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wade, parents Raymond and Edith Richard, brother William Richard, grandsons Max Castonguay and Brendon Meyer. 

Nadyne is survived by her son Richard Castonguay, daughter Denise Castonguay, daughter Yvette Meyer(Kevin)  and son Mark Castonguay. Grandchildren Alexandra Castonguay, Nicholas Castonguay, Blane Castonguay, Brianna Meyer, Alexa Meyer, Ethan Meyer, Natalie Meyer, Connor Castonguay, Jackson.
