Panther boys and girls wrestle at Jeff Giles Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. — Wrestling at the 19-team and 16-team Jeff Giles men’s and women’s Invitational hosted by Minneapolis High School, the Concordia wrestling teams earned over 70 total wins across all three levels.

Boys Varsity

Landen Belden, 106, went 1-1 with three byes, with the win coming by fall in 46 seconds.

Jacksen Whitley, 113, went 3-2, with the wins being by fall in 1:19, 3:47 and 1:05.

Quinn Kymer, 120, went 2-1, with the first win being by decision 8-3 and the second win by fall in 1:23.

Rush LeDuc, 132, went 3-2 and finished in fourth place. The first win was by fall in 4:47, the second win was by fall in 44 seconds and the third win by fall in 1:15, but he fell in the championship semis and the third-place match.

Colton McWhorter, 138, went 0-2.

Andrew Romero, 150, went 1-2, with the sole win being by decision 10-8.

Braytin Hake, 157, went 3-2, winning his second match by fall in 4:22, his fourth match by technical fall 20-2, and his fifth match by fall in 41 seconds.

Drake Blochlinger, 165, went 5-0, winning by fall in 1:33, decision 5-4, technical falls 17-2 and 17-1, then ended the day with a win by fall in 1:50.

Deekon Holbert, 175, went 4-1 and finished third. After a bye, then falling in the quarterfinals, Holbert won four straight matches; first one by technical fall 17-1, second one by decision 8-4, third one by fall in 3:21 and ending the day with a win by fall in 3:08.

Tre Hamiel, 190, went 4-1 and earned third place. Hamiel won his first two matches by fall in 53 seconds and by decision 9-2, before falling in the championship semis, then ending the day with a win by decision 7-6 and a win by major decision 9-0.

Max Metzler, 215, went 3-1 and finished in second place. Metzler won his first three matches all by fall, 38 seconds, 51 seconds and 7:25, before falling in the first-place match.

Girls Varsity

Lola Weidner, 105, 1-3, with the win coming by fall in 41 seconds in match three,

Bridget Waite, 115, went 1-4, with the win coming in round five by technical fall 16-1.

Layla Aggson, 115, went 4-1. After falling in match one, Aggson won four straight matches all by fall, in 4:19, 41 seconds, 30 seconds and 43 seconds.

Bridgette Blochlinger, 120, went 3-2, winning the first match by fall in 1:15, the second match by decision 7-6, and the fourth match by fall in 3:16.

Tenley Snavely, 125, 1-2, with the win coming by fall in 4:35, before ending her day by fall and medical forfeit.

Brexlynn Koch, 130, went 1-2 with the win coming by fall in 2:53.

Jordi Jones, 135, went 2-3, with both wins being by fall in 1:34 and 2:18.

Gabi Lange 140, went 5-0. Lange won her first match by fall in 1:53, the second match by technical fall 19-1, the third match by fall in 39 seconds, the fourth match by fall in 37 seconds, and closed the day by fall in 4:34.

Hannah Bridwell, 140, went 1-2, with the win coming in round two by fall in 3:22.

Makenzie Beam, 145, went 2-1, with the wins coming by fall in 3:09 and 1:49.

Jori Letourneau, 170, went 0-1.

Isabelle Alexander, 190, went 4-1, winning all four matches by fall 1:50, 45 seconds, 43 seconds and 2:26, after falling in her first match.

Kaisla Hay, 190, 1-4, with the sole win coming by fall in match two, 2:39.

Genesis Trigueros, 235, went 0-3.

Ava Rowland, 235, went 2-1, with a win by fall in 20 seconds and a win by fall in 1:08.

JV Boys: Leland Bowman went 1-2, Brodey Schreiber went 1-2, Trigg Fraser went 3-0, Seth Lacy went 2-1, Kasey Pearson went 2-1, Clayton Viereck went 2-1, Jacob Gordon went 1-2, Elijah Maya went 1-2, Jason Underwood went 2-1.
