ABILENE — Competing at the five-team NCKL meet hosted at Abilene this year, the Concordia High School boys tennis team picked up a pair of wins as they prepare for regionals on May 8, hosted at McPherson.
In number one singles, Noah Wood went 1-3. Opening the day with an 8-0 win over Wes Breeding of Marysville, Wood lost his next three matches 8-1, 8-1, and 8-0 to end the day.
In number two singles, Keltyn Newton went 0-4, dropping match one 8-0, match two 8-3, match three 8-2, and match four 8-0.
In number one doubles, the pair of Eli Henderson and Dakota Valcoure went 0-4, losing match one 8-0, match two 8-4, match three 8-4, and match four 8-3.
In number two doubles, the duo of Ayden Nutsch and Creighton Nelson went 1-3. After an 8-6 and 8-1 loss to start the day, the two defeated Cyrus Wyma and Canyon Taphorn of Chapman 8-6, before ending the day with an 8-4 loss.
