Panthers, Eagles run at Wamego Invite; Panthers run at Clay Center

CLAY CENTER — In a loaded running week, the Concordia and Clifton-Clyde cross country teams competed in a pair of meets, even joining each other in Wamego.

At Clay Center, the Panthers picked up another top-10 individual finish.

In the boys’ race, Daniel Reedy was the top Panther with a time of 20:24.5, good for 24th place. Brody Marsh was 27th with a time of 20:31.5. Tucker Davis was 35th with a time of 20:52.1. Eli Denham was 44th with a time of 22:12.8. Colton Gallardo was 57th with a time of 24:44.1. Carson Gallardo was 59th with a time of 25:02.5. Chase Fox was 60th with a time of 27:16.8.

Riley Delorenzo of Chapman was first with a time of 17:11.9, and Wamego was first as a team with 50 points. Concordia was seventh with 187 points.

In the girls’ race, Addyson Stensaas, as the lone Panther, finished in third place with a time of 21:29.5. Liberty Cuevas of Chapman was first with a time of 20:24.2. Wamego was first as a team with 33 points.

Running at one of the largest individual meets in the entire state of Kansas, the Concordia and Clifton-Clyde cross country teams ran at the Wamego Invitational meet, with 65 teams registered across 1A-4A.

At Wamego, both the Panthers and Eagles ran in separate races, both claiming a top-10 runner.

In the girls’ 4A race, Addyson Stensaas was the lone Panther, finishing in 10th place with a time of 19:06.88. Corbin Starkweather of Buhler was first with a time of 19:06.88. Baldwin was first as a team with 67 points.

In the boys’ 4A race, Brody Marsh was the top Panther with a time of 19:43.05, good for 66th place. Tucker Davis was 104th with a time of 20:50.09. Eli Denham was 148th with a time of 22:23.3. Chase Fox was 161st with a time of 23:26.59. Colton Gallardo was 189th with a time of 24:32.05. There were 233 runners who finished the race.

Ryan Cherry of Buhler was first with a time of 16:50.32. Andale was first as a team with a score of 62. Concordia was 21st as a team with 552 points.

In the girls’ 3-2-1A race, Elsie Begnoche, the only Eagle girl runner, finished in 64th place with a time of 25:53.4. Dylan Kraus of Marion was first with a time of 19:30.27. Ness City was first as a team with a score of 83.

In the boys’ 3-2-1A race, Cohen Girard was the top Eagle with a time of 17:44.71, good for a third-place finish. Remy Girard was 40th with a time of 20:22.82. Isaiah Jackson was 79th with a time of 21:51.99. Broden Kolman was 125th with a time of 23:31.15. There were 185 runners who finished the race.

Kenan Bachman of Smoky Valley Homeschool was first with a time of 17:11.09. Smoky Valley Homeschool was first as a team with 35 points.

At Washington County, the Eagles had a pair of top-10 finishes.

In the girls’ race, Elsie Begnoche finished in 35th place as the lone Eagle with a time of 30:04.28. Madison Howland of Smith Center was first with a time of 20:43.32, and St. John’s was first with a team score of 22.

In the boys’ race, Cohen Girard was the top Eagle with a time of 18:32.17, good for 13th place.

Remy Girard was 10th with a time of 19:55.11.

Isaiah Jackson was 39th with a time of 22:49.36.

Broden Kolman was 51st with a time of 24:01.27.

Titus Cobb of Blue Valley-Randolph was first with a time of 18:15.72. St. John’s was first as a team with 41 points; the Eagles were tied for fourth with 88 points.
