ROSE HILL — Heading to south central Kansas for the 28-team 42nd annual Rose Hill Invitational, the Concordia wrestling team picked up 15 wins and dominated Marysville in a home duel.
Jacksen Whitley, 113, went 2-2 and finished in fourth place. After two byes, Whitley dropped his first match by fall, then picked up two straight wins by fall in 58 and 29 seconds, before ending the day with a loss by decision 14-10 in the third-place match.
Quinn Kymer, 120, went 0-2.
Cooper Wogomon, 144, went 1-2, with the sole win coming in match two by fall in 2:07.
Braytin Hake, 157, went 0-2.
Drake Blochlinger, 165, ranked number five in 4A, went 5-1 and finished in third place. Blochlinger opened with three straight wins, first by technical fall, second by fall in 48 seconds, and third by major decision 15-1, before falling in the fourth match by decision 5-2. Blochlinger then closed the day with a win by fall in 50 seconds and a major decision 8-0.
Deekon Holbert, 175, ranked number five in 4A, went 4-2 and finished in fourth place. Holbert opened the day with a pair of wins by fall (1:38 and 3:37) before dropping match three by fall. Holbert picked up another win by fall in 3:31 before ending the day with a loss by major decision.
Tre Hamiel, 190, ranked number two in 4A, went 3-2 and finished in fourth place. Hamiel opened the day with a win by technical fall 19-3 and a win by sudden victory, before falling by decision 4-1 in the semifinal round. He closed the day with a win by decision 8-1 and a loss by decision 5-3.
Max Metzler, 215, ranked number five in 4A, went 0-2.
Boys defeat Marysville, 71-11.

Andrew Romero, 150, lost by technical fall.

Girls vs Marysville
In a very limited duel with NCKL foe Marysville, the Concordia High School girls’ wrestling team defeated Marysville 36-30.
Layla Aggson, 120, as the only official varsity match of the evening, lost by fall.
Bridget Waite, Hannah Bridwell, Gabi Lange, Makenzie Beam, Jori Letourneau and Isabelle Alexander all earned forfeit wins, while Marysville earned forfeit wins for weight classes 100, 110, 125 and 155.
