Robert Burns and Patricia Gates were married at The Baptist Church of Concordia on August 16, 1975. An avid fisherman, Bob would say that Pat is the catch of his life. David Person was the best man, and his wife, Patsy, was the maid of honor when the couple exchanged vows. The bride carried a bouquet of daisies and her attendants wore mint-green gowns. The groom and groomsmen wore brown tuxedos with white daisy boutonnieres.
The couple has a son, Andy Burns, who has retired from the Coast Guard. He resides in Moyock, North Carolina, with his wife, Ashley and sons Eli, Jase and Liam, and Bob and Pat are so proud of each of them.
Pastor Bob became the Visitation Pastor at Concordia Wesleyan Church after retiring as the fire chief of the Concordia Fire Department. Pat is retired from the Cloud County Treasurer’s Office.
The couple will be honored at a casual come-and-go-reception on Sunday, August 10, from 2-4 p.m. at the Concordia Wesleyan Church Fellowship Hall (basement entrance). The couple requests no gifts, but would love for you to come and celebrate with them.
If you are unable to attend, please send cards of congratulations to:
