Paul Albert Richard was born in Concordia, Kansas, on April 23, 1943, to Matthew and Angeline (Racette) Richard and passed away January 19, 2021, in Edinburg, Texas.
He married Gladys (“Gee” Basgall) Leiker on June 13, 2020, in Salina, Kan.
Mr. Richard proudly served his country in the Army and Air Force National Guard, serving seven years as a Combat Engineer. He was owner-manager of PG&R Decorating and Auto Glass in Salina, later becoming a top salesman for PPG (Pittsburg Paint and Glass), winning multiple awards and certifications. He was a member of the American Legion, Manhattan, Kan., and VFW, St. Mary’s Salina and Jolly Mixers Dance Club of Salina, serving as president and vice-president several years.
He is survived by his wife Gladys (Gee), of the home; one son, Tony Richard (Sophia Dewey), Mentor, Kan.; three daughters, Tammy (Doug) Watkins, Salina, Kan., Jennifer (Kris) Antonetti, Lawrence, Kan., and Krystal (Bryan) Hay, Nashville, Tenn.; brother, John (Sandy) Richard, St. George, Kan.; two sisters, Maurene (Dan) Miller, Fresno, Calif., and Paula Miller, Visalia, Calif.; six grandchildren; two stepchildren, DeAnn (Jason) Laymance, Lawton, Okla., and Daniel Leiker, Russell, Kan.; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Richard.
It was Paul’s wishes to be cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later time at St. Concordia Cemetery.
