Phyllis Ann Boltz Cottingham Hedstrom died on April 23, 2024, in Wichita, KS.
Phyllis was born April 7, 1932, in Doniphan, Nebraska, the daughter of Fred and Edna (Rauert) Boltz and educated in Grand Island and Dannebrog, Nebraska. She attended Lincoln, Nebraska Business College and received her Associates Degree from Cloud County Community College in 1971.
She worked as Secretary/Office Manager at Sunset Home in Concordia for 28 ½ years. She was a member of the Baptist Church and served on various committees and boards. She was also active in Christian Women’s Connection, having held many different offices. She was always willing to share her testimony in various groups. She was active in Domestic Violence counseling and various social clubs.
Phyllis was united in marriage to Darrell L. Cottingham in July 1953. To this union were born four children, LeAnn Sanders, Sondra Montoya, Terri Patterson, and Tim Cottingham. Darrell passed in 1996. She later married Herbert J. Hedstrom in May 2005. He passed in 2009.
She is survived by one sister, Eleanor; four children; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Concordia Baptist Church in Concordia, KS, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with Sunset Home in Concordia and Good Shepherd Hospice in Wichita.
