Renee D. Peterson, age 35 of Grand Island, earned her wings and went to her eternal home after a brave fight November 26, 2018 at her home.
Services were on November 30 at Apfiel Funeral Home in Grand Island with Rev. Donald Baltazor officiating. Burial was in Grand Island Cemetery.
Renee was born February 7, 1983 in Grand Island to Walter and Maxine (Baltazor) Peterson. She was welcomed by brother, William and sister, Christina.
She graduated with the class of 2001.
She enjoyed playing violin in Senior High Orchestra. Renee was involved with Special Olympics over the years. She worked until retirement due to failing health.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Maxine Peterson; brother, Bill Peterson; sister, Christine and nephew Micheal all of Grand Island; “Gertie” Gertrude West of Concordia, KS.; aunts and uncles, Kenny and Sandy Baltazor of Taylor NE., Donald and Debbie Baltazor, Philip and Rita Baltazor, Anna Baltazor, Rebecca Baltazor, Dennis Baltazor all of Salina, KS., William West of Manhattan, KS., Carl West Jr., Al and Julia West of Topeka, KS., Bradley West and Ron Barry of Independence, MO., Lucinda Anderson, George Peterson and Pam Peterson all of Grand Island, Joan and Marc Lovendahl of Morganville, KS., Tammy and Bill Botiobfson of Grand Island, Kathy Wilson of Gotheburg, honorary uncle John Uribe of Grand Island; great-uncle and aunt Jim and Barb Peterson of Virginia Beach; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Walter, brother Jon Michael, aunt Laura Peterson, uncle Dana Peterson, grandparents William and Doris Peterson, grandfather Donald Baltazor, and step-grandfather Cara A. West.
