T-Birds split home triangular, defeat Southwest CC (Iowa)

Hosting a non-conference triangular after an eight-match road stretch, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team broke a six-match losing streak in the split triangular.

In the first match, the T-Birds fell 3-1 to Labette.

The Cardinals would take the first two sets to start the match, 25-15 and 25-16, before Cloud would take the third set 25-18. Labette closed the deal in the fourth set, winning 25-15.

Grace Rowland led in kills with 11, Tori Sanders led in blocks with four, Addyson Ogle led in assists with 32, and Berkleigh Curtis led in digs with 13.

In the second match of the day, the T-Birds swept Southwest Community College (Iowa) 3-0 to close the day.

Taking the first set 25-12, the T-Birds held off the Spartans 25-21 to take set two, and ended strong with a 25-17 set three win to complete the sweep.

Iza Caroline da Silva led in kills with 11, Sanders led in blocks with three, Ogle led in assists with 32, and Curtis led in digs with 13.

Traveling to Garden City last Wednesday, September 10, the T-Birds fell in three straight sets. In set one, the T-Birds lost 25-10, in set two 25-15, and in set three 25-14. The T-Birds had a neutral or negative kill-to-error ratio for each set.

Carlie Calgren led in kills with five. Addison Ogle led in assists with 13. Berkleigh Curtis led in digs with nine.
