Warren Lee Heinen died Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the age of 66. He was born in Concordia, Kansas, and raised in Formoso, Kan. He graduated from Mankato High School and continued his education, graduating from Cloud County Jr. College in Concordia, Kan., in 1975 and Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., in 1977. He had worked as an assistant manager, but for most of his career life he worked for the State of Kansas as an auditor. After his retirement from the state, due to his love of travel and photography, he established a travel website.
Survivors include his brothers, Alvin of Formoso, Kan., Gary (Kelly) of Kansas City, Mo., and Mark (Jolene) of Beloit, Kan.; sister, Ann (Jerry) Jennings of Cedar Vale, Kan.; four nephews and their wives; three great-nephews, six great-nieces; Aunt Eileen of Topeka, Kan., Aunt Jean of Jewell, Kan., and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Harold Heinen, and a great-niece.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Kleppinger Funeral Home, 409 Broadway, Jewell, KS. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Kleppinger Funeral Home, Pastor Jim Rice officiating with a graveside service to follow at Wallace Cemetery east of Jewell.
